Troubleshooting the SC2 Beta

Post here if you have a problem running the beta.  We’ll try to help.

Some Common Problems:

Error: “The game crashes when i try to view a replay”
Fix: Sometimes when loading a replay, lazylauncher will try to figure out what version of starcraft II that replay was recorded in, and than launch that version. If it fails to figure out what version the replay was madein, it will launch the latest version of the game and launching replays in the wrong version is what often causes the game to crash on startup.

Error: “Could not find file “C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\Logs\Map Info”
Fix: When selecting a map, this error msg will sometimes pop up. Just click continue and then check on ur beta launcher left hand corner below, untick the box “Use internet”. You can choose your race and color now.

Error: “The application failed to initialize properly {0xc0000135}.Click on OK to terminate the application.”
Fix: You need to download and install netframework 3.5 or higher: download link

Error: “Your system does not meet the minimum reccomended specs to run SC2″
Fix: Get a faster computer, or click continue, disable sound and turn down resolution in game, and update your graphics drivers to run at a barely playable frame rate

I installed everything suggested under “How to play starcraft 2 without a beta key” but I get an error message when I try to use the beta launcher. I always get the error message

I have tried different maps, different AI, and even turning my antivirus off. Nothing.

Why is it that no matter what I try I can’t play WITH an AI computer? I want to play a 2v2 but nothing will work, do you know if there is anything that might allow this?

Played my first match, went great. Now all I get is a flickering loading and game-play screen that isn’t playable and eventually crashes….

It took me awhile to get everything on the computer. I followed the instructions just as they told me to, and everything works fine for maybe five minutes, then for some reason the game goes into terrible lag, then my monitor goes to sleep. As I said, everything else runs perfect, although when lazy loader starts up the match is over already, but by hitting return to game I am still able to play until the game convinces my computer monitor to fall asleep. Any suggestions?

I downloaded the torrent and got 4 files. There was 1 installer, so i opened it up as admin. When it got to 67%, it said

An error was detected while verifying the contents of the file “E:\StarCraft II Beta enUS 13891 Installer\StarCraft II Beta\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\base.SC2Assets”. There may be a problem with your system, or with the drive at E:\. You can attempt to install again. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support.

I has the base.SC2Assests files elsewhere, but i can’t apply it.
